Arcade Fire – The Suburbs Lyrics 15 years ago
I swear to god, you fucking ignorant people don't think about anything before they speak. Firstly, I am not american. Secondly, it won't be the first time Arcade Fire made reference to WTC.

“(Antichrist Television Blues)”

I don’t wanna work in a building downtown,
no I don’t wanna work in a building downtown
I don’t know what I’m gonna do,
’cause the planes keep crashing,
always two by two.
I don’t wanna work in a building downtown,
No I don’t wanna see when the planes hit the ground.

Even if they weren't referring to the WTC, it is fine. That is what i got from it.
I would like to add that "And all of the walls that they built in the seventies finally fall" is referring to the berlin wall. Does that make me a nazi?

Sufjan Stevens – Enchanting Ghost Lyrics 15 years ago

I missed this style of sufjan!

I like the line "Stay with me until I sleep within your host". We bring past relationships into current ones.

Arcade Fire sings about how we forget our mistakes when we move 'past the feeling' of guilt and grief. "houses they build in the seventies" is referring to the world trade center. It seems like we have gotten 'past the feeling' and now it 'meant nothing at all'. When i first heard 'through the yard', i thought he said 'through new york'.

Great Music. Relevant Music. Like george orwell to my ears.
