Is everyone on the Internet deaf? It's not "unfair the despair" it's "more dire the despair". I guess it's groupthink. Or if this is how the group published the lyrics, well they changed them. |

Exactly, "even death was overrated" that's how I've always heard it and the unplugged version supports this as well. |

Thank god for this song. It is about parents who treat their kids like shit, who cant relate, cant share intimacy, overprotect the child and basically teach him nothing so he is almost incapable of surviving in the real world. My mom used to say, "I provided a roof over your head and food on your plate." yeah, thanks a fucking lot cause thats all anyone needs. Thank you for my basic fucking survival, dysfunctional cunt! |

Wow, the details of my upbringing, which slightly different, pretty much mirror yours exactly. Accomplish something, go unnoticed. Do something wrong, that's only thing that gets attention. |

Wow, yeah cuz, that's all one really needs, a freaking computer!! Shelter and food that's the basic essentials. There is so much more a kid needs than that. I'm sorry you can't see that. |

Beautiful interpretation. I felt that too. And I wonder if my soil is toxic to the ground, for nothing was explained to me. |

Rated 0Â a person paid money for salvation, in this case they bought a wooden Jesus. The subject offers to "cut [Jesus] in to 20% of [his] future sin" in return for salvation. In my own words, he's offering Jesus the pleasure of his sinful acts in return for salvation. He believed it the minute the check left his hand because he believed he had a deal wooden Jesus couldn't refuse. And of course their are many similarities here to people who give money in vain seeking absolution from their sins. |
