god. god. it's one of those songs that can be taken to mean various things depending upon the recipient's experiences. seems to me, however, that it regards an individual who found herself, found her peace and her strength, in a certain someone. seems they're no more, though, due to the "i wonder if you WERE aware." more sad than inspirational, but it's sort of that resigned, accepting sadness that's like "oh, well. shit happens. i wish you the best regardless." here's the essence: i really gave myself to you. you did a lot for me. you're still in my mind, evoking everything i can't control. i wonder if you ever knew. jm2c |
