I think it depends on how you want to read the lyrics. If you're reading them literally, then it does in fact sound like it could be about a dog. if i never let you out of my door [opened the door to let the dog out] you'd never broke your leg in the park if i never picked you out, this i'm sure [If he didn't pick the dog out from a litter] you'd be home with a family keeping warm [someone else would have and the dog would be alive and well] The lyrics to me sounds like he misses someone he loves and wishes he could have them back. you'd never have broke your leg in the park If I never picked you out, this I'm sure You'd be home with a family keeping warm Are the lyrics that don't really fit, at least for me, when I first heard him say the last 2 lines I was confused, it actually snapped me out of the song because I didn't quite get it. After someone mentioning it could be about a dog [or really any animal] it made a lot more sense. |
