suppose its a big story of humanity. I aways thouht the song demon days were reffering to the present days. like if it all came down to the demon days, also because its the last song. but demon days are slightly pessimistic, sad, or hard, even though they have that "bring yourself up and keep walking" kind of message in the end of the song. also, because, the cover shows the characters a bit disappointed. this song, dont get lost in heaven, must mean, dont die for no reason. because you'll make a big mistake losing you're life, since they got locks on the gate, you cant come back once youre...there. |

man i believe youre right. i mean, it makes sense. and then, the lyrics: the guy have to buy new shoes to keep up with the times that are changing. things are evolving, changing from 19 to 2000, the world is spinning too fast, so he has to keep up he's good mood and "keep his shoes clean and shiny". keep up what you like, alway be with yourself and keep evolving to the modern times. and sing along with the music!! repeat : its the music that we choose! also, the offcial lyrics say : "START dancing to the music / of gorillaz in a happy mood" so it makes even more sense. and in the clip, theyre driving fast on a car. |

i liked ' no 's explanation and comment, but i think that the verse: "and i'm bleedin' and i'm bleedin' and i'm bleedin' right before the lord all the words are gonna bleed from me and i will sing no more " means that, he hopes he can suffer alone or, hopes that the pain goes out without he needing to take that revenge. its like, hes bleeding before the lord, not before anyone else. and if youre right and hes backing himself up all the time, tryng not to hurt nobody, then he's just searching for some redemption, that the lord helps him up with his pain or that he doesnt have to involve nobody else in his pain. |

It only exists to be done, when its done, the power of love. maybe teardrop on the fire it's a slight relief, love could be a teardrop, an emotion, a relief in the fire. plus, black flowers blossom, they're "born", the beginnig of a new life. damn, even the video has the foetus; its a song about the power of life and force or energy of love, that also applies in nature. they're comparing nature to human life. my eye, most faithfull mirror to the soul. Fearless on my breath, suppose its literal. fearless unstoppable energy, flowing from inside you. simple, strong and beautifull. :) | |

I've never really thought this song spoke anything about a girl or a desired woman or something like that. I like to take this one literally. It speaks about Angels. Angels do exist. I've know lot of stories about that. lots. and the "she's on the dark side" part, maybe, its an angel that needs to "neutralize" every bad energy, every common earthly thing, in order to love, and only to love,the human being. I think the whole tension of the song is to show the unbelivable thing, that exists a being thats meant only to love and protect. It's scary but... fascinating. a being made for help. |
