awesome song.. My interpretation is maybe the first three lines are from the point of view of the person rescuing or maybe the storm itself.. LP loves playin it in different levels of meanings.. Literal, metaphors, puns, etc.. You go.... Maybe the person who have been rescued or the one who are already dead. Givin up ur home, leavin all u've known are literal and metaphorical with respect to the person bein dead or rescued, etc. With arms up, stretched into the sky could be callin out to heavens or literally the act of tryin to fight the storm and askin for help frm the ppl rescuing 'em. With eyes like, echoes in the night is metaphorical.. Maybe the never endin darkness and hopelesness n their eyes (of the living) or the dead cold eyes (of the dead).. Hidin from the hell u've been through.. This could be referrin to the post traumatic stress amongst those who have been rescued and in the hospital(refer video).. Or could be those still n the affected area tryin to hide from the storm(hell).. Silent one.. Dead or PTS(stress) This song touched me like 'what i've done' and 'hands held high'.. Awesome!! |
