| Adele – Rumour Has It Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| To me it's about a girl whose boyfriend left her for a younger woman. After some time the original girlfriend started spreading rumors that the boyfriend had been missing her/had an affair with her. Eventually the boy's current girlfriend starts to believe the rumor and breaks up with him leaving him lonely. The original girlfriend feels bad for telling lies, but is glad that she got back at his cheating ass ;) | |

everybody has the general idea of the song (that it's about a sexual experience), but to me it's a little different. The whole song plays out like a movie. In my opinion it's about a guy who takes a girl's virginity after one date or maybe a party. either way to the guy it was just sex, but the girl thought they were more than that. and now she "sleeps with one eye open" meaning doesn't trust men because of what he did to her. and to the guy, this is the "price she'll pay" for being a slut.( the 1 & 2 stanza) After that the girl decides to get revenge by tarnishing the guy's name/ruin his life. so the guy is saying "hey, girl with one eye, get your filthy fingers out of my pie" aka stay out of my life. and the girl replies/thinks "I'll cut your little heart out cause you made me cry" |

| Yeah, i think it's about a man with a some kind of addiction. his instincts want him to do what feels good (the drugs) and he sometimes "slips" and uses again. But, as he tries to fight his addiction he attempts to fit into normal society, pretending he isn't a addict... As for the "eyes" i think he is looking in a mirror and talking to himself. | |

This song is pretty literal. It's about a drug dealer, who is actually a good person, but has an addiction to the drugs they sell. "wake up you're getting high on your own supply" The singer knows about it, and have given him the ultimatium of either kicking the drugs, or her. But she knows that he won't leave the drugs alone, and all his cheap talk about it is just lies. So, she knows what she has to do. leave. "hello, goodbye" Of course this can be used as a metaphor for several different habits besides drugs. |

the lines... "Walked to class, in front of ya Spilled kefir on your keffiyeh You look inside and turn to the door Drag your feet along the floor" rule out it being a relationship with the professor. the professor would have to be INFRONT of the student because he/she has to unlock the door. |

okay this has to be one of my favorite songs ever... In essence, this song is about long term relationships. He describes the relationships using the seasons. particularly winter. winter is typically viewed as the harshest season so it illustrates the difficult parts in a relationship. At first they were still very much in love so the winter "December" seemed like summer, and they were drinking horchatas. but slowly the "winter's cold became too much too handle" and they little arguments and what not, began to bother them. "Pincher crabs that pinch at your sandals." so "years go by and hearts start to harden" means that they begin to fall out of love with one another, hence, "Those lips and teeth that asked how my day went are shouting up through cracks in the pavement." In the end they break up. and the "feeling you thought you forgotten" is heartbreak because they have been in the love for so long. almost finished here...."Chairs to sit and sidewalks to walk on" is basically about the break up process. Usually when someone tell you "sit down" bad news is coming aka dumpsville lol. and afterward you would leave "sidewalks to walk on." Lastly "You understood so you shouldn't have fought it" is saying you were feeling the same thing, so you shouldn't have fought to keep the dead relationship going on. well at least that's what i think the song is about.. that's the beauty about VW's songs, it's all up to interpretation. |
