It makes me think of when your just beginning to delve into relationships and they are clearly nothing like the fairytales you heard growing up. They don't even resemble that television shows or disney movies. It represents the loss of those innocent times and ideas. It's very sad, but empowering too! She realizes that she can save herself and that is a strength within itself. |

This is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs that I have ever heard. I believe that the lyrics speak to anyone. It touches a chord in me everytime that I hear it. To love someone so much and to know that no matter what you do, it'll never work is like living a private hell of sorts. Lauryn's tone of voice and the instrumental symmetry balance each other out so beautifully without competing. it's simply masterful beauty!!!!! |
