this song has an extremely personal meaning for me, while i know it was intended as a religious song, i cannot see it as that just because of past experiences. after coming out of an extremely horrible relationship, i was literally a mess, completely unable to do anything for myself after having been in said relationship for such a long time. after doing a little bit of picking myself up, i met my husband to be, and while i don't want to sound as though anybody needs a man, or woman, whichever, i doubt i would have been able to pick myself up completely and be half of the person i am today without having met him. he literally was the one to pick up the peices. the reason this song does have such a meaning to me though is that i regularly leave my computer on with my complete itunes on random, and ironically, this was the first song we made love to, and apart from the actual music being GREAT to make love to, it is just plain an amazing song, no matter if you relate it to your God or your lover, or just that one person who no matter what is always able to help you pick yourself up when everything seems to be going wrong. |
