| This song is, undoubtedly, about awakening. In my opinion, the singer found in someone what she had been longing for, possibly for a very long time. It´s as though her willingness to let something new in was concealed deep inside, waiting for someone else -a saviour, maybe?-, to help her understand it was possible to see life from a different perspective. He helped her go thru a lot... he just UNDERSTOOD. But it is NOT about him, it is simply about having understood, with someone else´s help, the reasons why happiness and freedom lie in your own hands. Is there a key to succeed in love? I´d say yes: Loving yourself first. | |

First of all, I'll say I love this song, it's uplifting, and it's about seeing the glass half full. And about its meaning, I agree with Dangeist on the fact that all the questions that sometimes children ask have no "creative" answer on the part of their parents, who normally answer "Sorry, kid, I have no reply" just to get rid of the child because they have no patience or no time to come up with an answer which may satisfy the child. As for the first part of the song, "Out of a million seeds, only the strongest one breathes", I think that Rob refers to the beginning of life, to the strongest spermatozoid reaching the ovule, which develops as a seed after fertilization. I do love the line "Well if you want it come and make a stance", 'stance' there meaning a rationalized mental attitude, which adds to the overall meaning of the song, which is LOVE, love making the earth go round. It's like saying: Love, accept being loved, and your life will change. And once your life and the life of the rest change, the world will be a better place". Great song. Great Robbie. |
