Parkway Drive – Sleight of Hand Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't think it is a straightforward criticism of religion, remember Parway Drive travelled the world before they wrote this song and went to third world countries were superstituin rules (Superstituin rules in the land of the weak).

"Power withheld" is obviously a link to religion and how governments/authorities have distorted religion to control the population (like the hindu religion, they have a caste system which has been connected to their religion, which is a barrier to them as lower caste individuals have nearly no rights in their religion and the lower caste is about 95% of the population)

"Left by the loss of Understanding" - i believe this is a link to how Humanity creates religion to explain to them existence or the things humanity doesn't understand etc.

"There is no god that could love this world" - Now this is why i believe it is not a direct criticism of religion but more a criticism of humanity as he actually doesn't state that "there is no god" however he says "there is no god that could love this world" suggesting If a god did exist he would not love humanity and our sly ways.

"superstituin rules in the land of the weak" - "This directs the meaning of 'religion' in this song towards third world/weak countries such as India - China - Africa - The Middle East were religion is distorted or otherwise not fully understood and has usualy a bad effect on the general population and can be used to for grudges/wars

"knowledeg controlled, power withheld - In the name of one let all blood spill" ---- This again is why i believe this song to be targeted at India or third world countries were religion is used to control the public and used to motivate people towards war 'let all blood spill'.

Parkway Drive – Hollow (feat. Marshall Lichtenwaldt) Lyrics 15 years ago
If you've seen the interview just before deep blue came out winston said “It’s basically about the search for truth in a world that seems to be devoid of that,The story is told through the eyes of a man who wakes up and realizes that his life is a lie and nothing he believes in is real. So he tries to find the truth within himself and his journey takes him to the bottom of the ocean and back again.”

and if you buy the CD you get all the artwork that explains the story.
i believe "A path set in stone now breaks like glass" just means what he thought was real suddenly shattered and now is searching for the truth, "the failings of yesterday become my catlyst" that just means his failings are now what are going to lead him to the truth. "I'm persuing only answers ,shedding skin past loves and bitter hatreds" means that he is forgetting about the past etc. etc.

Everyone song has its own part in this story, maybe unrest and samsara dont count :S.
