| this is simple. my interpretation is a couple who has been with each other for a while who decides to go on a break. most times when couples decide to "go on a break" its usually a one-sided decision. kanye didnt want this break, but thats how it went down. during the period of the "break" he stayed loyal, waiting on her to figure her shit out so they could get back together. well she got with another guy instead. BAD NEWS! he asks how long she knew dude thinking she possibly could have been seeing this guy BEFORE the break, obviously while they were still together. either way, he was waiting on her, waiting on that dream. she broke the rules and got with another dude. is it cheating to to get with another person on a "break"? tough question, but i say yes. | |

to me, this has NOTHING to do with choosing between career and a girl. this is about kanye being completely in love with somebody who is not feeling the same way. its a relationship that has been long enough to ask if theres a real future here or is it a big waste of time? but kanye is at the point where he is frustrated and cannot love this much and not be given the same love. weather its a real feeling or just a song, kanye is in love with a girl hes been with for a few years. he loves her with everything but she is not quite on the same page (the vibe is wrong) so he keeps it hidden from anybody else. she knows how he feels. his love is on lock down from others but she knows how he feels about her. eventually she cant commit to the level he wants so he has to move on. he has good things going for him in other places. even tho he breaks up with her (maybe a few times like in real life!) as a way to threaten her or simply better himself, he still loves her to death and it hurts. in the end he feels he just has to let go, not because of his career, but because he has given so much love and hasnt gotten it back. he gave his best for a long time. he only quit because it was inevitable that it wouldnt work out in the end. |
