your silence haunts me, probably means she is ignoring him, but he hasnt given up yet...plus according to the bible god/jesus will never abandone you...so in essence first verse doesnt work because god would not walk away. basically i think both people are too stubborn to find commmon ground on how they both feel about eachother because there is no or poor communication. they both know they dont want it to be over for good but dont know how to express it to eachother, so they just hope they will see eachother again sometime in the future, and his curse is that this has probably happened before and it always ends the same way |

a love song about someone being so dependant on him that he feels that he is keeping them on life support, he knows he has to let go. when you lose someone in a special relationship sometimes the decision is the hardest ever, such as the decision to literally pull the plug on someone you love, but in your mind you know its the best decision for both of you, to just let go, and say goodbye. when they are gone from your life it can literally feel as if they have died. |

rot in earth refers to the person being "dead to him" not necessarily dead, dead. he tried but now he cant do anymore. no more pills to swallow more likely refer to lies, than actual pills....she lied to him and he is lying to himself...her lies ended the relationship and his lies are what he tells himself after it ended, but they dont help him |

i think when he refers to rot in earth, he means that the person is "dead to him" not really passed on. no more pills to swallow, probably mean lies. hes not going to believe her lies anymore. she left him and he tried but now hes getting over it |
