I think this is about a guy who really likes a girl, but after a brief fling, she ends things. This rejection messed him up, but regardless of this, he still wants to be with her, and will spend every moment of his life trying to obtain her. "Right or wrong I should have stayed up 'til the break of dawn"... "I never found out what it means" They had their romance, but he didn't realize it would be over so quickly. He regrets "sleeping" when he should have been enjoying each moment with her and learning her inside and out. "You think I'm out of my head/ But I'm romantically dead".. She hurt him, and now he can't do anything but long for her. No one else interests him. For this she thinks he's crazy for obsessing. "You should have come to me before too long/You'll never leave my sight again" He knows what he lost and he wants her back. "Your eyes deny me like the sun on a night sky movie scene/And I just don't care what it means" ... "You wouldn't wait around/But I'll be watchin' you" He will do whatever it takes, even though he can see she doesn't want him. Even if it's a 'waste of his life', he'll always be watching her, waiting for the moment he can get her back. This song is just so damned catchy :) |
