I think this song is just about the working class American, or perhaps anyone that is in the middle class of their community. Particularly, it seems like it is about the more passionate individuals that some of us might be or might be friends with that can't stop trying to fix everything even though there is no chance of it. I think you're taking the metaphor about medals a little too seriously, although I get where you are coming from with verse about the subject being harassed in the streets. |
