Actually, in an interview they said they didn't write it FOR the movie. They wrote it to be the closing track on Sea of Cowards, but the production people of Eclipse wanted the track exclusively, so they quickly recorded another song to end the album (Old Mary). I've been a Dead Weather fan for quite some time. I'm thrilled that this song is putting them out there for more people to discover, but I think this song is less about the words, and more about the ambiance and the feel. If you look at both this song and Old Mary, they have the same, low-key, quiet feel. I think it was just the feeling they wanted to end their album. It just also so happened to be perfect for a moment in Eclipse. So while I'm sure the words mean something to them, I really think it's more of a big-picture song (as in look at the whole thing, not just the words). |
