@[clint:8836] henr I totally agree with you. Since I heard this song back in the day, I considered it a suicide song and I have strongly related to it. Years later I have found out that this is also my sons favorite GB song because he always related to it. He first heard it when he was 13. That's when New Miserable Experience came out and cemented my families relationship to the Gin Blossoms. |

That was really clever. I'm surprised that in over 6 years nobody has replied to your post. |

The reason I love The Offspring so much is because they are so sarcastic. This is just one of many of their songs that showcase their clever sarcasm. This song is the high point of every Offspring concert. They stop abruptly right before the "stupid dumbshit goddamn motherfucker!" part and tease the audience because everyone's singing along with the song and are so ready to scream out those words as a mass. Then Dexter prompts the audience and everyone screams out "stupid dumbshit goddamn motherfucker!" with such veracity! It is not only fun but very cathartic. Sort of therapy for the masses, lol..... |

This is a kick-ass song. I love the sarcasm way that Dexter Holland sings it. He is illustrating how stupid and meaningless all the gang violence is. Why can't we all just get along? |

There is a fine line between genious and insanity. Max Bemis seems to have both going for him. I just wonder if his creativity suffers when he's taking his meds. No disrespect intended...this song is incredible and I intend to study the lyrics of some of the other songs he's written. Before and after the bi-polar diagnosis. |
