The Goo Goo Dolls – Better Days Lyrics 15 years ago
"I don't care if they label me a Jesus Freak/cause there ain't no disguising the truth"
Anyway, I'm only here because I heard a Christian singer version on Air1 (The best Christian radio ever, mixes up the Power of RAWK with a little CCM love) Anyway, so after the radio guy said, "you might of heard it before, I had to know the original artist. So now I'm here and I find that it wasn't written by a Christian artist and am taken by surprise, because of the lyric content is so spiritually strong that it surprises me. It obviously has to be about Christ, if you get the whole "Christmas" feeling though, because of the line "And the one poor child who saved this world." You could argue about the whole faith, forgiven, and peace stuff, but I only know of one child who came on that one day to save this world. So yah, I love it when bands that have no relation to Christianity write songs like this, because it shows that they are searching and starving for the truth that's in Christ alone.

Oh, Sleeper – A BANQUET FOR TRAITORS Lyrics 15 years ago
Makes sense, But I keep thinking that the host is that one who said, "You can hold perfection in your arms if you wish" because I can't find another "he" that it could refer to. That's what is stumping me. But maybe the host is Satan, since its a banquet of traitors. I thought that God was bringing traitors to Him as the host, but I think the host is Satan. I still think the host might also be God. Brain Hurt! I can see the perfection as an earthly lustful perfection and also a spiritual perfection. If it is Satan telling him to obtain an earthly perfection, he is stating that he wants nothing to do with it, but I don't see this because he states "I am no king". I think maybe he's saying that he doesn't deserve perfection because he is unworthy and the Host is ready to bleed (the cross) as if he is royalty. And the speaking moment near the end is about him witnessing the sacrifice of his host, while his host is saying that he can't deserve Him. The whole "I'll make you a God of a liar is saying that since he is a liar, if God becomes his God, God will be ruling over him. Now that I think about it, the host has to be God.

Red – Not Alone Lyrics 15 years ago
LOVE THIS SONG, MAN I'M STOKED FOR UWHF. This song is about the reality of God, the reality that God will never leave us nor forsake us.
A few things are wrong, but you did a really good job!! (I know from the pdf booklet they are giving out for 24hrs today)

In the first verse he says "you're living in fear that no one will hear you cry. (you missed the "you're)

Another really really really small change is "and everything is gone, but the pain carries on" should be "and everything's gone, but the pain carries on"
At the end of that same verse he says "but I, I am here" repeating the I.

In the next verse, the first line starts with and, being, "and i will be yourhope
Your biggest mistake is in the second line of the verse in which "your whole world's ending" should be "your whole world shatters"
Small mistake is that the last your in that verse should be you're (and also the your, your not alone should be you're)
"look up and see love has a face" doesn't have the word "that"
Last mistake is that "your lost and so afraid" should be "You're lost and so afraid"

Great job overall, don't sweat the mistakes. Good work

Anberlin – Impossible Lyrics 15 years ago
Love that interpretation, however even though Anberlin is a "Christian" band, they seldom directly write songs about their faith like that, but give it in the background. For example, their hit song, "Feel Good Drag" from their last album is obviously about being in a very bad relationship with a girl. However, Stephen puts a Christian perspective to it, with the speaker realizing that it is sin doing what he's doing and needs to get out. I do believe that it could have a Christian meaning to it, but I believe its more about someone who feels crushed by a relationship, because he is making the wrong decisions and won't open up. Now I totally feel like you "could" put Christ as the other person in the relationship, but I don't believe that was the primary purpose. It could have that open interpretation style that Switchfoot loves to have. Who knows, but good thoughts!!
