Like some of you said it's an economic metaphor. "on the rocks" is usually a term for a type of liquor on ice. So I think she's trying to simulate love and alcohol. They're both contradicting "hot as hell cold as Ice" when one drinks alcohol even if it's cold it'll feel warm/hot in ur throat and makes it burn. She's trying to say that love is like this. It comes in one way and completely changes in another. And like some of you guys said, she's addicted to alcohol/love. so in the song love is some type of liquor. give me some jackdaniels on the rocks and your giving me love haha |
