I don't know ... I think the best way to summarise this is "It's complicated". The whole song just sounds like a big confusion of emotions and feelings , but the sort of enjoyment in exploring that ... aware that, because the 2 people are sensitive to each other, in the long run (maybe not the short run) neither will get hurt. I take it as the guy and the girl being different characters and singing their different parts, so... "This time I'll leave you as the one that you love The taste of your lips and the true meaning of love" He's leaving her to be who she really wants to be, because their relationship is getting in the way of that for both of them. They have one last night together and it feels great. "Your beautiful smile all bent out of shape Is this the road to heaven that you wanted to take?" But he asks, are we sure this is what we really want? "Come on baby don't you want to feel love? Have I left you too long waiting for the feeling to come?" She expresses her own doubts as well. "Another kind of lover holds my baby today Crush the tissue to break the fall Let's get lost and feel warm tonight Hit by another and feeling it's right" Both has experienced something maybe better with another person in the past whilst they were together, but were too scared to act on it. So they know itll take bravery to finish this up and move on. I could go on but I've no time ... and I get confused. There's a lot of levels to this song that I don't think people tend to grasp ... |

Loving the variety on this album...this one reminds me of Ticket To The Moon by ELO ... "I've got a ticket to the moon but I'd rather see the sunrise in your eyes..." Strikingly similar vocals wow. |
