The Meaning? Well, the words "open the door, let em in" are referring to open our heart and mind. He refers to people who should be causing change in our world " Martin Luther" Those words "someones knocking at the door" I see it as a figurative esoteric meaning; A message is trying to get through into our life, that's the knocking. Who all those other people are in the song, it would take a lot of research; Maybe this song has double meaning, maybe there are friends and family coming around, or, maybe it means there are regular people in our own lives who have something to say, we should open the door to their knocking and be willing to give them our attention, it just could be devine |

I always just took it to be, 2 hippies with niknames, pressed rat and wart hog, that ran a wierd head shop, and were left with no choice for some reason to leave their business. That's just the way I seen things happen around Georgetown in dc back in them days, so thats about all i seen in it, a great tune though, that i still love. |
