| Alkaline Trio – Continental Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think you're right.. But I can't help but kinda think it's about a zombie cat. Sorry Skiba haha | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Pea Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
For awhile, he's just acting like how someone that's full of shit would. "ohohh don't mind me; I'm just little and harmless. I'm nothing.. So go ahead and tell me all your secrets. I'm sooo against violence... And I'll kick your ass because I'm tough. Like I said; I'm small. Nothing." Then Flea states his opinion about people that are like that. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Warped Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It was originally almost cut, but RHCP told the producers to up themselves and they kept it. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Warped Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It's about drugs and how it terrifies him that he feels like he needs them. The music shows just as much as the lyrics do; the whining and warping show his anxiety and fear he has of being weak to the drugs. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Shallow Be Thy Game Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think it's more about the leaders of the religion rather than the deities itself. Like the Pope or something similar. | |
| Radiohead – Prove Yourself Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think it's about a really bad, dangerous, possibly expensive town. Mostly, he wants to live with a smaller amount of stress so he doesn't have to carry a gun everywhere. He has nowhere to go without feeling unsafe or endangered. He wants to get out of the town to live and breathe. To get a chance to grow. He knows he wants to leave, but this place is all he's ever known. "I look, I bleed, I beg and pray" would either mean 'I'm a real person. I deserve to not be under this shit all the time!' or else that he tries his best to get out. He's better off dead if he keeps staying in that town. He's not doing anything for the world or else he's just trying to sustain life for a little while longer. To prove himself would be to get out of there. Another idea is everything like that, only instead the 'town' would be his state of mind or emotion. The gun would be fighting his dark suicidal thoughts with his last shine of optimism. To breathe would be to let loose, causing himself to fall apart. He just wants to be away from his depression. |

| Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It wasn't really a minor incident. He was the leader of one of the major countries of World War I. The band is named after Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. Assassinated by a student hired by a Serbian Nationalist group (The Black Hand.) And the assassin was one of six assassins hired that day to assassinate him. | |
| Modest Mouse – Lampshades on Fire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Actually, it's been confirmed that he is NOT rapping on the new album, only helping produce it. | |
| Modest Mouse – A Life of Arctic Sounds Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think Isaac is saying that he'd drive or do anything for someone he knows and loves a lot. He knows it's a long drive, but he feels strongly for them.. At 1100 miles, he realizes this has been far too long of a drive. He wrote his name on the sun to get their attention. A life of arctic sounds is being around arctic areas and having to go through there. In other words, the long drive is really trying his best to be good for them, but it's obvious that the road just isn't the right one. Finally he drops it at 1100 miles/ a big fight or realization. He does something really big and kinda stupid to get the person's attention. A life of arctic sounds would be having to listen to such strange things you've never heard before, or having to go way out of your way to listen to really cold stuff from the person you're trying to get to. 'I might be goddamned' probably means that he does a lot of stuff he's not proud of, and so he's kind of saying he may be thrown into hell. The sad comedians, this part I'm not sure of, might mean like the stand-up comics that try and laugh and joke about their life, even if it's fucked up. Of course, it's personal interpretation; and that's just one of the great things of Modest Mouse. |

| Modest Mouse – Teeth Like God's Shoeshine Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Conformity in popular culture and conformity in religion. It's all just a fucking popularity contest, and it's bullshit. That's what I get from it. Isaac Brock is simply perfect when it comes to songwriting. |

| Built to Spill – Carry the Zero Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| To me, Carry The Zero is about a girl who is afraid to be herself, and it causes Doug sadness. Doug is the zero because he wants to be with her. But all she does is transform into whatever she thinks she should be, rather than what she is, and he's afraid to say anything or do anything because he think the relationship will fall apart. | |
| Morning Teleportation – Snow Frog Vs. Motor Cobra Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I love this, man. First song I've heard of theirs and it's blowing my mind. I love it. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Tear Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| About life, both about a time to finally do something positive and your flaws that are disabling you from doing it. | |
| Modest Mouse – Ocean Breathes Salty Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Now why the fuck do we argue on a discussion of such a beautiful song on such a beautiful album, of a beautiful band? We all love Modest Mouse, don't we? True fans should be proud of Modest Mouse, not be disgracing this album. Good News went platinum, did you know that? I'm pretty proud of that. I've listened to No One's First And You're Last, the album that was expected to be the first of the bad Modest Mouse albums, and it was fantastic. We should all just get along, chill out, and embrace the success of Isaac, Eric, and Jeremiah. They definitely deserve fans who are proud of them. | |
| Modest Mouse – Dashboard Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
He didn't completely stop, he still drinks. He just doesn't binge or do many drugs. He's as creative as ever, and will continue to be. He's just THAT awesome. |

| Radiohead – Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Yeah.. Same here. They really capture it within the music, even without the lyrics, you can just feel Thom wanting to scream that he wants everything to be back to normal, but he can't. Even without the lyrics, as I said, this song has definitely been one of my favorites ever since I started listening to Radiohead. |

| Modest Mouse – Satellite Skin Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I believe the Satellite Skin to be religion; something that makes him feel so alienated (hence, satellite) so much that it almost makes it feel like its his skin. Moth wing feelings would be the very powerful subjects that turns so quickly into an argument, lost friendship, hatred, and sometimes even wars. I'm pretty sure 'powdering dust on your fingures' is referring to gun powder. I think the rest is either fairly obvious or already listed in a comment. |
