Inhale Exhale – A Call To The Faithful Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about people who go to church on sunday then live the rest of their lives as sinners with no intention to please God, but to live for themselves - making their decisions based on their own desires and things of this world, rather than to live up to God statutes.
This can also tie to organized religion of today which is all about rules and rituals but takes away from a relationship with God.

It could also be about people who have faith in Christ, but not enough to show it in front of others. They want to do whats right in God's name, but are afraid to do so because of what people will think of them. This would still mean that they are putting themselves and their own feelings before God's - meaning that they are living to please themselves, even thought they really want to please God.

Either way, the song is calling out to the people who truly believe and truly have a relationship with God that they appreciate and live for. The ones who truly have faith. But those who dont are still being called upon with an outstrecthed because God always forgives and rejoices over a saved Christian

Underoath – Reinventing Your Exit Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about facing obstacles in life and making wrong decisions, and how they constantly put you up against the wall with no place to go. After watching the music video, I believe that those bad decisions and obstacles come from a struggle within himself. Therefore I believe the song has a Christian meaning.
The song has to do with Romans 7:7-25 - the struggle with sin within oneself. In the beginning he is giving in to his desires and thinks hes invincible, only to be put up against a wall, realizing he is wrong and should have done things a different way. In the scriptures, Paul wants to do what is right, but the sin living inside of him forces him to sin and do things he doesnt want to do. He is trapped. "what a wretched man am I! who will save me from this body of death." Through Christ he can be saved from that sin that lives in him, just like the speaker in the song. Through God, he realizes the way he should have done things when faced with sinful desires his mind seeks.

just my opinion, i really thought it related to scripture after seeing the video. go watch it then read romans 7:7

30 Seconds to Mars – Kings And Queens Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the song definitely has some kind of christian meaning, and the band isnt trying to hide what the song is really about. If the song wasnt about Christ/religion they wouldnt say things like "Father has spoken," "children of a lesser God," "a darkness comes," and obviously the reference to heaven and hell.

As far as the song meaning God cares less about us.. well I completely disagree. The lesser god means we dont live our lives to keep God's statutes as much as we should, or as much as God would like us to. We, instead, live our lives according to daily, sinful temptations in our lives that steer us further away from our relationship with Christ; We praise ourselves and worship earthly things - a lesser god - instead of our savior.
