Seems to be about the process of reflection & acceptance - but with an understanding that the ways things were came from meaningful places, despite them being right or wrong. Bon Iver has a crazy way of delivering messages... songs like this make memories play like video tapes in my mind. |

I believe this is about the last moments of life... when you have your conversation with your reaper. Take the lines about teeth marks (dental records,) good clothes (for burial) nails painted (grim reaper who is speaking these things)... and clearly "i'm here to take you now." "You were right about the end It didn't make a difference Everything I can remember I remember wrong" (lost memories [from age?] and a sudden feeling that everything will be ok ) How can anybody know how they got to be this way... (Old?) "Break my arms around the one I love" ( I picture the person reaching out for a living person they love and can still see.. but they are just a ghost, so no matter how hard they try, they cannot touch them...) and be forgiven (at the gates, by "god") by the time my lover comes (to heaven to) |

I think this means that he gave the simple parts of dreams up thats meaning had dwindled or burnt out. A focus on these few things whose meaning are the highest. The recognition that this period that is happening is both powerfully encouraging, yet longing for the time of the comfort that can come from that time when nothing changed was so comfortable. It is one of the most wonderful times in life. |

i think "i stole into a strangers home" might be "I strolled into a strangers home?" like all the others, I feel transported into the scene with this song. incredible things being done by typhoon. |

It is hard to seperate the strenghts of this song from the strength of this e.p. It is the first album I have ever considered epic. Back to the point. I think it is about trying to make sense out of saying goodnight to the one who always told us goodnight. Dealing with the meaning of final. |
