This is a perfect song to end the whole album with. The album is filled with sorrow and stories of people in pain. She starts off with "Before the Eyes of Storytelling Girls" as a strong political song and ends with "One Good Thing", which basically is about someone who's just tired of the lies told by the media and politicians. So turn off the TV, she's so low she doesn't even sing. It's like she's summarizing the whole album. And the ending expresses the same feelings as the listener after listening through the album: "is there anything good about this world or this country? Tell me one good thing" is basically the feeling we all have. |

The second verse is what brings me to tears. This is a heavily political song about the West bank, there is no doubt about that. As a person with deep sympathy for all the suffering people in the West bank and Palestine, and as a person on the left wing of politics, this song is really strong for me. Just the idea of the second verse is so sad. I'm born and raised in Sweden, although we have our hardships in the western world as well that should, by no means, be treated condescendingly — I could never imagine living in a country where there are checkpoints everywhere and walls surrounding me and my family. |

It just pisses me off when you're posting sloppy lyrics like this. First of all, look over the language - don't use "cuz" instead of "'cause" or "because". And second of all, it's "Let's fun something fun for us to do." - I have no idea how you even managed to hear "I've found something fun for us to do." This kind of sloppiness just gets on my nerves. |

I can not understand how no one have commented on this song. The meaning of it is quite obvious. For me it's about a partner leaving and Chris is the one being left alone. He sings that "you are all I know", and that's how a lot of people feel about the ones they love. That they are everything, their world. This song is so close to me because my ex left me two months ago. And "I know you like it" also fits into the feelings you have when you're being abandoned. The song is spot on. It's simple, but very powerful. It has a lack of words, but that's exactly what the song is about. The lack of everything when you're in the trauma this kind of event causes. I love the song. |
