Wow. This man has a beautiful brain. I feel like this song is about someone passed. He lets his imagination free him from his anger by creating an idyllic adventure he gets to share with the person he misses. |

So many insightful interpretations! Thanks all! When I watch the weirdly horrific film clip for WE SHARE OUR MOTHER'S HEALTH, with the evil war birds dropping bombs, all I can think of is the Hongerwinter - the Dutch famine caused by the 3rd Reich in WWII. Heaps of Dutch starved to death when Nazis intercepted their food supply and studies have been done on the now adult children of mothers who were pregnant during the famine. This whole generation of famine babies has higher numbers of diabetes, heart disease, clinical depression, schizophrenia to name a few. The Hongerwinter is an interesting example of EPIGENETICS. The children of the children starved in utero, born much later in better conditions and well fed were still underweight! Changes in genetic expression up to 3 generations down the line!!! This is huge. It means you aren't just what you eat. You are what your mother ate. |

This is not music. It's very clever advertising. This song has been manufactured by Mark Foster and an advertising company to be "the perfect song" that will illicit an emotional response in us. Why? To increase consumer spending. (And obviously to make Foster big bucks.) Bill Hicks (arguably the greatest comedian ever to have lived) had something to say about artists who use their music to promote products for money. It's the best thing you will ever watch. |

IS IT A SINGLE OR A JINGLE?? “Pumped Up Kicks,” came from a struggling jingle writer named Mark Foster while working at an ad-jingle lab called Morphonics. Instead of commissioning 30-second “custom pieces,” Morphonics develops existing music from promising musicians–it also works with Fitz and the Tantrums and Mansions on the Moon–to create full-blown three-minute pop pieces for a list of clients that begins: “Apple, Adidas, Audi, AT |

| I took some acid last weekend, and now I understand this song, which I had previously taken for kick-arse gibber-jabber. I think it's aboout using drugs as a tool for self healing. He is very poetically telling his demons to get fucked! | |
