My thoughts... I think he is singing about a woman who has the potential to be "the one," his soulmate or whatever...and who would/could be his wife (the for better, for worse reference)....but she is holding back for some reason....and unable to feel as strongly for him as he does for her....or unable to express her feelings (re: if your heart could find the words). It sounds like he has done everything to try to convince her that they are meant to be together (if there was a way to navigate your seas/ and the Romeo sermon bit). She believes that this intense kind of connection (soulmates or whatever you want to call it) exists (I believe in you Romeo), but doesn't or can't feel it for whatever reason. He doesn't understand why (Romeo's mind is burning), is sad and wondering what it would be like if he could get through to her. Great song...love it! |
