okay so i'm kind of confused. i bought a used CD off the internet. came with two booklets, one's small one with liner notes, and the other is a book of lyrics in both english and japanese. i assumed these were correct lyrics, as it looks official, and i just assumed i had a booklet from a japanese release or something. but the lyrics are completely different, here they are exactly as printed: Undenied undenied (repeat) Dead people lie All people lie Dead people lie Dead people lie You're in my place again Echoes become a sin now You're in my way, man Sound would mean some wrecking up Sound would mean some wrecking up Shadows casting... obviously about drinking/sizzurp/etc. not really all for what it's about, but it's a catchy song. definitely a lot better than a lot of songs out there. |

If I read one more thing anywhere where someone says "I think the lyrics are..." I'm just gonna lose my mind. Buy the album. Remember those things called liner notes? That have the lyrics in them? If you don't want to buy the album fine, but what is the point in making up lyrics and saying you think they're right when they're clearly not? I just don't get it.. |

@ i love JF i actually see what you're saying. i think a lot of john's songs have that illusion of being about a relationship but at their core, really aren't. what you described sounds more like john. of course, it could be a mix of things. song meanings are rarely simple. @ Wack_Strings i read about how it was written while he was reading an aleister crowell biography, but i don't know enough about that/him to have more information. |

@pointless triangle i agree. if you don't know what the lyrics are for sure.. why wouldn't you just wait for someone who bought the physical album and has the booklet to post them? anyway, this whole album blows my mind. it's incredible. here, the album's main "character" or whatever you'd like to call it, is talking to god i think. also, a lot of it is a reflection about life. not having his own face, being replaced, life going by fast, "one life begins another dies," all those lyrics say similar things. about how when you compare your tiny time on this earth to the eternal time of the universe, you sometimes think about how insignificant your life is. |
