I actually think this song is about getting drunk. Not typically what this band writes about, but after 200 listens, I caught on. Just listen to it thinking that, and it kind of makes sense. It's about William waiting around for a girl that's just not interested, so he drinks to make up for it while partying. |

| At the knife part, think should be thick. Sorry 'bout that. | |

As for the meaning, I think the song is about the singer, Jordan, crushing on a girl but being to afraid to talk to her. Ok, I'll try to decipher this piece by piece: I could have wrote down Every thought I've been thinking to myself all this past year (every thought of you) But would it stand out (amongst other guys' thoughts) Oh I want to make myself clear. And baby clearly I need some balance in my ears right now (I'm not sure what this means... but I think it has something to do with his brain, because its between his ears. Like he's going crazy- he needs balance) Cause I've been freaking myself out. And I've been waking this whole town And then I turn myself inside out (he's changing his ways for her) La Da Da Da Da And it's all about the way your hips move side to side Left to right guide me home tonight And I need a little more thunder A little more lightning (a little more power/energy/strength so he can have...) A little more you Be my lantern help me shine on through So said I, I got to comb my brain for the words to say (he's thinking of what he'll say to her) And if it don't feel right then it's a wasted night The price to pay is so, so high And the irony could be cut with a knife (the irony is so think you'll need a knife to cut it? Not completely sure) Cause it's my first chance But it's my last chance Alright And then I turn myself inside out La Da Da Da Da And its all about the way your hips move side to side Left to right guide me home tonight And I need a little more thunder A little more lightning A little more you Be my lantern help me shine on through Baby well I got to have you loving me tonight And when my world has Become a whirlwind (when he has problems...) Would you be my white flag (...will she be his answer?) Speaking up like sugar, I'm a wreck (he speaks really fast, lotsa energy--like sugar) And you know I can't do a thing about it, about it. Breaking down all on my knees Baby, take another chance, oh please? I'm a flood, I'm a train, I'm a wind (he's invincible?) You're taking me out, I'm taking you in (she's over him, but he isn't over her) [Repeat] I've got a mind, a grade-A catastrophe (even though he has a brain, it's not helping him talk to her) Stood strong it was the best for me My town is irrele-irrelevant Blue eyes match green lies (Not sure what this means...) And I need a little more thunder A little more lightning A little more you Be my lantern help me shine on through And I need a little more thunder A little more lighting A little more you Be my lantern help me shine on through Baby well I got to have you loving me tonight And world has Become a whirlwind Would you be my white flag? |

So I'm typing this with the booklet infront of me: **In the chorus, lighting should be lightning. Where it says 'I've got to call my brain," call should be comb. And near the middle, the lines should be: Speaking up like sugar Im a wreck And you know I can't do a thing about it about it Breaking down all on my knees Baby, take another chance, oh please? I'm a flood, I'm a train, I'm a wind, You're taking me out, I'm taking you in. Got a mind a grade-A catastrophe.... And the rest is good except for 'green lights' should be 'green lies.' |

| You Me at Six – Jealous Minds Think Alike Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this song is about a breakup or struggle between a couple, and they both really miss eachother, feeling the other's presence in the air (the chorus of the song) but they won't admit this. They're too stubborn-- or jealous (but I'm only grabbing this from the title, I'm not sure where it plays in with the lyrics)-- to get back together. | |

^^Well, I think the correct lyrics are: Sad, sad sight for the sore, sore eyes and a headache for the weakest of minds Basically, I think he's saying that she's really beautiful, but really confusing to figure out (guys are getting headaches when trying). |
