| This song has alot of personal meaning to me. I trusted someone i shouldnt have and she turned around and blabbed about what i told her. I was almost expelled from my school because of it and she had the gall to lie and pretend like she didnt do anythin wrong. Luckily i was able to clear it up and had some REAL friends to back me up on it. I dropped her out of my life and now i dont even acknowledge her existence. Funny part is that i had been helpin her through some of her issues and i thought we actually had something. i honestly wasnt too into flyleaf until this girl i kno kept telling me to listen to them. she told me to listen to this song 1st cuz its her fav. anyways i did and honestly this is freaking beautiful song that gives me hope and just makes me smile. its really rare these days to come upon songs like this. most songs talk about heartbreak and death and partys and sex. dont get me wrong im a huge metal head who loves to party and all but this song is just as my friend put it "a beautiful lullaby". definitely a fav song of mine now. wat sucks 4 me is she sum how roped me into playing my acoustic and singing it 4 her. there is no way i can compare to Lacy's AMAZING voice. sry 4 that lil venting lol but i gotta say flyleaf is now one of my fav bands right now. i have come to pretty much the same conclusion as everyone else except a couple parts. i think the song switches points of views a lot. He had a plan to kill you all along, The evidence was hidden in this song, I was a ghost, I was there at the scene, As the embers rise, my hands, Smelled like gasoline, (here i agree wit the whole drunk driver knowing he shouldnt have driven. this part i can c being from the p.v. of a close friend/crush/watever u choose. so the i was a ghost there at the scene could mean he was the party and saw her there. the last bit could mean he watched the car go up in flames with her still in it) So, the headlights murdered my thoughts, I curse this taste that's on my tongue, This taste will last until I rip it out, No, I won't need these gloves, Her bones are withered away, but your ghost will remain. (the headlights bit to me means that he was hit by the car wit her and the drunk driver. the taste could either b his blood or the gasoline watever u come up wit. the gloves thing confuses me but the last part is self explanatory.) You're the only one that wore your seatbelt, We're the only ones that cried, Catastrophic accidents, You're the only one that died. (here it could b from from the p.v. of the person who got hit and the drunk driver and others who were in the car. she was cautious and wore her seatbelt. they didnt and so wen they crashed they flew outta the car she didnt.)
