To be honest, I don't really understand the majority of the lyrics either. His flows extremely abstract, and a lot of times talks about things that you can't even interpret, because they're taken from his personal life. But I think a lot of times it's more about the poetry itself than the message, which is what I really like about him. No Regrets was entirely about the message, and easier to comprehend because he wrote it specifically to get the message across, rather than mainly to sound interesting and give you a challenge to interpret. |

To clear things up, Aesop Rock technically is a hip hop group. Aesop Rock himself is the MC, but behind the name Aesop Rock there is Aes himself, and there is Blockhead, the DJ. But yes, only ONE person writes the lyrics. |

"the mouths water on a fork and knife" Definitely sounds like he's saying you can't control what people say. Meaning freedom of speech. Any words can come out of somebody's mouth, and trying to stop them is like eating water with a fork and knife. |
