| Metallica – The House Jack Built Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Reading through the lyrics alone, a person can be pretty well convinced, "and I shake as I take it in, let the show begin" was referencing heroine, but I've known James Hetfield DID HAVE a drinking problem. Thus, "Jack" referring to Jack Daniels is a rather revealing clue. Furthermore, if you think about it, does James Hetfield really look like someone whose been a drug addict for more than thirty years? Even twenty years? No. No, he does not. Everyone in this age of history has seen someone, especially someone in a rock group, who has turned to drugs to allay the pain. So, "swallow me so the pain subsides" is a bit hard to peg as referencing a needle, snorting, or even smoking something addicting. Alcoholism is the answer, Jack Daniels is the culprit -- who built the house. |

| Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Wonderfully interpreted, absolutely wonderfully. This is by far the most perspicuous and/or well-articulated interpretation of any song I've read on this site to date. Bon Iver was only recently revealed to me and this song, appearing to be one of his bigger hits, if not the biggest, is incredible. I've listened to it quite a few times and have yet to tire of each element therein. Nevertheless, this song is not the point, but your thorough dissection. Well done, Sir or perhaps Madam, very well done. Unquestionably, I could never have done so well myself. I am thoroughly impressed! |

This song is a bemused extrapolation of love transcending all physical existence and acts thereof. Like, duh.. |
