I know for a fact that this song isn't about star wars. I used to think the same thing untill last friday when i went to see Chimaira at Mayhem Fest. While getting my shirt signed by the whole band I asked Mark Hunter , the lead singer, if Empire was about star wars and he said it wasn't.
