It's clear that Owen is the god of Spectrum but he's not singing this song as himself (or himself the god). What I mean that The Butcher isn't (or whoever it is that is singing this song) god. He references "final fantasy" and "the singer" which means he's talking about Owen. However, despite holding power and acting as a kind of judge for Owen, he doesn't have the power to save the world from it's eventual demise. |

I agree with you except I don't believe "unfucked" refers to the pregnancy. I believe they do get the procedure done. "We'll make only quick decisions and you'll keep me in the waiting room"
He is waiting in the room after the decisions have been made, and he is in the waiting room as she gets the procedure done.
Being fucked refers to their relationship. They have problems that can't be unfucked and now they're strangers. |

I don't understand why people insist on jamming this song into the context of cancer. In my opinion, this song has nothing to do with cancer. Sure, the situation that this couple is in may eat away at them "like a cancer" but that's about it.
This song is clearly about an abortion. The bear is a baby and they intend to put it an end to it. They feel so old yet not old enough to have conceived a child. They're not afraid about raising it and providing for it ("well we're not scared of making caves or finding food for him to eat") they're afraid of being together. They're not comfortable with each other and in the end they realize they're strangers. Abortion is the foreground while commitment and intimacy issues are the background |

The album as a whole is about an abusive relationship in which one of the people is seriously ill. The album is not about cancer. |

This song uses images of pregnancy and abortion because it's a song about abortion. I can't help but take this song literally because it's telling a pretty clear story about a couple who is going through with this.
That being said, there is the emotional content under it, the undertones of helplessness and guilt that are more subtle. But that doesn't mean this song isn't literally about an abortion. |

I don't know why people think this song is about cancer. It's clearly about an abortion.
