| Dirty Pretty Things – Doctors & Dealers Lyrics

let me add that some medicines you obviously do need from doctors...but alot of medication thats coming out now that claim to do this and that, are really nothing but placebos. The pharmaceuticals will change one little chemical so they can give it some ridiculous professional sounding name to get it approved. Just watch a bit of american TV, like 40% of commercials are about medication or drugs.

Well I think its about how drug dealers and doctors are the same. They prescribe drugs to people who need to feel something, just to make money. They could care less if it kills you, and that in a sense by giving them your money you're kind of giving your soul to them because your happiness relies on them. In the end its not worth it, you got to solve your own problems |

I Think the velocity part has to do with her being high in any sense of the word, feeling great for those few moments "the world was hers again" and of course it fell apart again. Lyrically its one of my favorite songs of all time |

Its about going out on a friday night and having a one night stand with a girl, and then not talking to them for the rest of the week, he's being ironic by saying that getting laid is love when really it isn't |

| Manic Street Preachers – Roses In The Hospital Lyrics

I find that with the manic street preachers, if you generally understand what they stood for and what they still do, you'll find that alot of their songs sing about the same general things. I always saw the manics as an art vessel against Capitalism, and Richey potrayed the perfect victim of Capitalism, someone who felt alienated, someone who didn't want to work minimum wage for a lifestyle that he could barely support, and also he saw the exploitation of all the people that are affected by its grip.
I think when you understand these things and what the manics really stand for, then you'll really understand what their singing about |
