Hmmm... I've always kind of looked at this song with kind of a duality to it: --On one level, it's as everyone says--forget about conforming to your standards, mocking, sarcastic, etc, whether to a person or to society --But I also think there's kind of an underlying frustration, like being in a relationship, and being upset that the other person is asking so much of you, constantly conveying that you're not good enough, and the singer is angry and kind of like "well, f this, I'm obviously not good enough, (cue angry sarcasm:) how about I just all of a sudden become better at everything?" |
