Eminem – Stan Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song really brings out how much Eminem has been through, like how crazy his fans could be, how obsessive and following that they can be; that they will do anything to contact him, meet him, just to know him like a close friend. So rather than just a song, it's a warning to people that listen to his music to not be obsessive and to do crazy crap over him. It's really a matter of how seriously they take his lyrics.

If they take them too seriously, like Stan, they will do crazy things to prove the 'I'm the Number One Fan' fact of life, sort of-thing. If they're here for listening and trying to understand Marshall in a nice, subtle, non-obsessive way, then it'll show them what become obsessive could possibly do to them.

Mostly, it's all to do with whether you're obsessed with Eminem or not for your take on this song.

Alter Bridge – Watch Over You Lyrics 15 years ago
I personally think that it is either about a very close loved one, like a daughter, wife, girlfriend, what have you, that he needs to leave in order to make their life or his own better. Like he's going through a divorce, and he's trying to explain it to his kid, if any? It's hard to explain, but that's this next few paragraphs in a sentence.

"Who is gonna save you When I'm gone? Who'll watch over you When I'm gone?"
It sounds like he's talking about his death, that who's going to look after daughter/wife/girlfriend when he's dead and gone? Who's going to watch over them throughout the rest of their life? Who will keep them safe, to help them along, to make them understand? Who?

"I tried to carry you And make you whole But it was never enough I must go"
If looking at the daughter scenario, it could be that he was trying to look after his kid but he isn't able to due to a possible divorce or financial problems, and he thinks that he 'must go' to make it all better for him/her.
If looking at the wife/girlfriend scenario, maybe he is having financial problems so he cannot look after the family anymore, to keep them whole, to carry them on his shoulders?

I think the rest of the song after this explains what's happened, or explains why he left, perhaps, if you try to decipher it. Why? The last line of the song is 'I'm long gone', saying that he has left and he probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

Don't take my word for it, though; it's just what I think.
