It's sounds like a time when you realize you've been wasting your life being upset "for a girl that isn't even real" and it's time to wipe your soul clean of the sadness. |

I believe that Jenny is ready to check out of the relationship and he knows it but she's having problems communicating that to him. I believe people check out of the relationship long before they really let their feelings known and I think he's trying to tell her that he knows.
Seth played this song in Detroit on Saturday by himself on stage and right before this verse, "I want to live and I want you to live happy and free," he said at the time he said those words, they weren't true but he was hoping that one day he would mean it. |
