I'm more familiar with the Dark Train remix. I first heard it watching Trainspotting, and it was so groovy, I forgot that it should be disturbing to see a dead infant reanimated onto a person's ceiling. Crawl on, little zombie baby!

In my opinion, Berninger is lamenting the future of society. Many people I've talked to feel that we're headed towards a destructive outcome. I really don't think Berninger concedes that there is any hope left at all for mankind. However, I feel that it is a very powerful song emotionally (even if it is about Global Warming), because despite his incredibly ominous foresight, he is determined to see it through. Also, although I think "No, I won't be no runaway" can implicate a variety of actions. Sometimes I think he's talking about suicide, and some days I think he means going to some dark corner of the world where he won't be reminded of our collective monstrosity.

love it! I think it's about being a guy and feeling like you don't fit into the man's man mold. Rather, you have a more stereotypical woman-like psyche. I could be off in my description. I really like the first verse; it is cool how he repeats woman and man in describing himself.

A girl who loves a boy who leaves her (vacation, grad school, anytime) and she tells him white lies that she's okay to make him feel better about being emotionally disconnected from her (When the day comes/ It will all have been fun/ We'll talk about it soon). The boy is okay being by himself but she's not when he's away (Gets hectic inside of me). In any case, awesome song, awesome album.

It sounds like a story about someone who needs some time to themselves and so decides to sit by the ocean watching the birds. As he does so, he relaxes and puts his thoughts in order, which leads to a transcendent experience (All my thoughts left me again/ Bliss me out, send me away). I like the hand claps during "Running all around"
