He's talking to his fans. Everything wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the people who believed in him. "In this life, I was loved by you" I think he is talking about how he wanted to become famous (in a sense) and then slowly he realized he wasn't doing it for the money. He was doing it because he loved his people and his music. It allowed him to be free of all his trouble. Sorry for this scatter brained explanation. |

In a way it sounds like he knew he was dying. I know you might all think i'm dumb for not realizing it sooner. But i've been giving a lot of thought to this song and the chorus where he say "Not that I could, Or that I would, Let it burn, Under my skin, Let it burn," It could mean that he doesn't want to suffer anymore maybe, like he was dead already and the blood could be "burning" his skin. It's outlandish I know but that makes sense to me in a sort of sadistic way. |

| TO me this sounds a little to uh random and just a little creepy. As much as I love the screaming I just think that the lyrics are sort of meaningless. Just talking about Love, Rape, Fear. It's I guess and allegory of how God loves us. But he rapes us by taking away those we love, This instills fear into our minds of death. Maybe making us think that God Hates us. Still the lyrics could have been done a little better in my opinion especially from how they write all the other songs. | |

This could be reference to many things. Especially when the Rev died. With the lines "Tonight we all die young" and "So why'd you close your eyes? Why can't I shut mine?" is meant to be how The Rev died hence 'close your eyes' and 'Why can't I shut mine' may mean that if he sleeps he will dream and things we'll be thought over and memories will play and everything will be a total nightmare. At least if he stays awake he can hold on to the memories and not have to realize reality. Tonight someone died and everyone else lost a part of themselves. Then he reflects on how he is in a terrible place "Save me, I'm trapped in a vile world. ,Save me, Where the endings are the same as every other, We're only here to die." He realizes that the world is full of sadness and death and moving on. Where the only constant in life on this world is death. "the ending is the same as every other, We're only here to die" |

| I think that this is about how kids these days. Most people now a days are just desensitized from everything. Reality. And how we are becoming mindless. We are easily influenced by outside forces. We can't think for ourselves (not that we are dumb or anything). And teenagers ( i am one myself) don't really know what they're in for. We all have things we believe and we think that we will always be the best. But once we're actually there we realize how naive and unprepared we are. Just like some soldiers who used to play like video games such as COD or other military shooter games. Join the army thinking that they won't actually die ( again i'm not saying that they would think that way. But it's meant to be a metaphor), but when they are in the warzone they realize that it isn't fun and games. You can die and there is no coming back. That's my take on it. I was too lazy to point out where I got these thought in the verses. But that music video on youtube the one with COD in it kind of gave me that impression :P | |
