Counting Crows – Daylight Fading Lyrics 14 years ago
yes for some reason this song immediately struck me to be about this....i always thought colorblind was along the same lines it makes me think of panic attacks....even though this song is more upbeat I it seems darker than colorblind to me.... colorblind is more hopeful

Counting Crows – Mr. Jones Lyrics 15 years ago
I always though Mr. Jones was like the slightly cooler confident "funky" alter ego of the narrator. The one who can actually talk to girls and likes to drink and believes in things. In "she looking at you no she's looking at me" line it's about which one the narrator should be to impress the girl. The narrator wants to be symbolic and creative, someone people believe in like Bob Dylan but hides that side of himself through Mr. Jones but Mr. Jones is the side of him that believes so he needs him to become a "big star"

Coheed and Cambria – A Favor House Atlantic Lyrics 15 years ago
I think when I first heard this song I WAS that current gf that someone was considering cheating on, which they did. I like your interpretation but I think that's why mine is from the opposite perspective.

Coheed and Cambria – A Favor House Atlantic Lyrics 15 years ago
As someone who had not heard of the comics or storyline thread before I first heard this song this is what I decided this song meant.

Your eyes tell the stories of a day you wish you could
Recall the moments that once
Retrace the footsteps that brought us to this favor
I wouldn't ask this of you
(two lovers are seeing the memories of their now doomed relationship flashing in each others eyes. the narrator tells the other person not to try to create a timeline of where it went wrong)

Good eye, sniper
I shoot, you run
(a sarcastic line: so hurt by their actions the narrator calls the other person a sniper and says it's time to reverse roles, this may either imply betrayal and revenge or a constant game-loop they are stuck in instead of just breaking up)

The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn't have
I'll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all
(when a relationship ends mutual friends will choose sides, the narrator may be implying that they've already chosen the other person or that the other person lied to keep the friends. It's time to tell everyone that they broke up and what really happened, is the other person ready?)

Run quick, they're behind us
Didn't think we'd ever make it
This close to safety in one piece
Now you want to kill me in the act of what could maybe
Save us from sleep and what we are
(everyone is talking about them and the narrator is surprised their relationship lasted as long as it has and feels even more betrayed by keeping up appearances)

Good eye, sniper
Now I shoot, you run
(the game of hurting each other continues)

The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn't have
I'll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all

Bye bye, beautiful
Don't bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they're calling all cars
Face step, let down
Face step, step down
(the narrator decides forget it, they're done, the other person has said enough and they're not pretending anymore)
