I feel it's about how people see the world more strictly than others who are just trying to enjoy there life. I can relate, my close buddy talk down about everyone and feels he is so much better. The definition of title alone explains some of the meaning. Self-righteousness: is (usually) a feeling of smug superiority derived from a sense that one's beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the average person. Anyways I think this is a great song. It's different, but that's what makes it better than your average song today. I do sense a bit of drug reference in there as well? "Lift your head again and try this." Try a different drug? "What's ours is ours, and we're all alone." Nobody should care about them doing these drugs? "We don't need to beg or steal."
