beyonce is very talented and her voice is beautiful, why do people even comment on songs when it's obviously not their genre... there's no purpose. this song is meaningful its just not unclear or vague enough to decipher for anyone. so with all due respect, learn that if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all, something you should've learned a long time ago. |

this song is very special to me. its the first song that has made me tear up. its the first song that's made me feel. its the first song rzeznik has written after a few years with writers block and he wrote it in under 5 minutes and composed it in a short time as well, specifically for the movie. when asked why he called it iris, many people have different opinions, maybe its about the flower, maybe its about the angel. clever assumptions but only assumptions. rzeznik himself said that he was reading and he found a country singer named iris demont and he thought her name was beautiful so he used it as the title. i would also like to believe its about the angel considering the song is about the angel from the movie city of angels. people who havent watched it have their own meaning for the song but when you watch it it makes a lot more sense. the movie (for those who havent seen it)is about an angel who falls in love with a woman. human. therefore he wants her to feel him there and he wants to be able to feel her because angels cant feel anything "and i'd give up forever to touch you, cause i know that you feel me somehow". its a beautifully written song and its my favorite. always has been. |
