the chorus goes "We can move on forward, don't worry." I love that though. Don't let the worst of times get the best of you, because the best of times is yet to come! |

| FM Belfast – Synthia Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I see this song as someone's attempt to help their friend. He keeps screwing up his life and she keeps trying to clean up after him and point him in the right direction. I really think that at least a few "What have they done to my Synthia"s are "What can be done for my Synthia" | |

This song is like my life encapsulated. I used it as my senior memories 2 years ago. VERSE 1: When you feel in control, you work hard to organize and keep everything in small enough portions so that you can handle it. We have these inner desires that end up not always in agreement with our hearts. This is partially because our longings are flighty, but also because we grow up and things change. The whispering in the wind is a beautiful image that seems to point to Ecclesiastes where Solomon talks about the futility of chasing after the wind. In the same way, trying to pack everything into an empty shape is just as useless. Everyone needs certain things for comfort and growth - assurance that everything will be okay. CHORUS: We're used to being humans - it's our instinct. We're also, in a way, in control of the universe - it's ours to explore. But ultimately Love determines our purpose in life. VERSE 2: ...wondering if there's really a heaven/final destination/purpose. Recently, I've been through a lot of pain (much of it self-inflicted), but somehow, Hope as always survived. BRIDGE: This part is especially incredible. I ALWAYS get goosebumps! I really have seen supernatural things and it's difficult to tell people about it because they never believe you. The lyrics are probably referring to figurative things (ie a sunset that is so breath-taking that God is CLEARLY "present" in it), but I really like the second part "I've awoke in the dark to believe the things I've seen - it's all there." I have seen demons several times in the dark and I FULLY believe that they were there. It's so hard to say that without getting skeptical looks and people nonchalantly thumbing through the DSM-IV, but I know that what I saw was real. |
