I just had an idea after reading your comment and commoninsanity's. Joy division was just about to go do a tour in america when this album came out. I wonder if this was already in place when Ian wrote this? He always wanted out of manchester, he was finally going to get out right before he killed himself. What if thats what this song is about? Being unsure if going to america will be just more pain or something good and being scared? just an idea, any thoughts? |
