Evanescence – The Last Song I'm Wasting on You Lyrics 15 years ago
Not everything you get from interviews is true. He may have said all those harmless things about her, and still come home and be a total fgt. Actions speak louder than words do, and I think that either POV *whether amy's or ben's* is never going to be clean enough because people's interpretation apparently weights more than what they could feel/do, indoors...

I agree with the fact that this part is sarcasting, but not with the reason. I believe it's sarcastic because usually people who commit suicide are those kind of person. Like poets and singers are directly connected with art, like a way to express themselves, and sometimes they can get really emotional because of it, there were a lot of poets/singers *and others, iunno, writers, and stuff*, that took their own lives. And as for the lovers, well, after a break-up, the lost of someone you love *meaning love in every relationship, couples, friends, family*, some people think that not living anymore is the answer...

I guess that that second ending can be considered disturbing, because makes you think about the suicide, but not to commit it, so instead of making you commit suicide, you kinda think about it. Like, Emilie doesn't want people to commit suicide ofc, just to reach them, make a point, 'think about this before you do something stupid...' Iunno, just a thought.

Emilie Autumn – God Help Me Lyrics 15 years ago
Missed a piece at the begining, sorry, it was supposed to start with this, and then the rest above.

To me, this song is 100% about rape, and as you guys said before, she was actually raped when she was young, so pretty sure this is her own catharsis about that *unfortunate* experience.

'God help me,

I don't see how I can live this way
And I don't know why he's touching me
Won't you shine in my direction and help me?
Won't you lend me your protection and help me?' I think this express the impotence you feel when getting abused, and how dirty and guilty *even tho it isn't victim's fault, but thats how your mind works* about it, and she asks God for help, cause maybe it's the only 'man' she can trust.

'Believe me, this wasn't what I wanted
But no, I can't leave, he's got me' Obviously it wasn't consentual, nobody wants to be abused, but as it's forced, and usually rape is someone taking advantage of power upon someone with less power, therefore more weak, you can't escape from that *not without difficulty at least*

'Am I guilty or am I just waiting around
For the tide to come in so the truth can come out' I'm not sure about this but my guess is that the victim is facing some kind of dichotomy between feeling really guilty about being raped, so she just doesnt say anything about it, or just the feeling of not wanting to report the abuse, because rarely rape victims report these acts.

'Just maybe I'll learn to help myself
Speak to me, don't leave me, he's burning me' Obviously shes looking confort in God, asking for any sign to proof that He's with her. Also, I don't think that the 'burn' feeling has nothing to do with love, I believe it's more like the burden you feel about something being forced on you, because you don't ask for it, and it's just wrong that it's touching you/inside of you.

'Places, everyone, this is a test
Throw your stones, do your damage, your worst
And your best, all the world is a judge
But that doesn't compare to what I do to myself
When you're not there' I think that what she's pointing out here is that as usually victims feel guilty, and sometimes, when abuse is reported and you go to trial, sometimes court has the 'she asked for it' attitude, and victim is like 'Let him who is without sin cast the first stone, say whatever you want to say, dismiss me, but thats not even close of how I can judge myself', just guessing though.

'Don't make me choose, I've got too much to lose' This line, I guess, refers to how rapists play with victims' minds and threats them saying like 'if you report me, I'll do this...' kind of thing.

Sorry for bad grammar and extended essay.
