Slipknot – The Devil In I Lyrics 9 years ago
This is my interpretation, not the meaning of the song as written.

I think this song fits so perfectly with the dynamic of relationships nowadays. Women feel slighted by something and take it out on their man before wishing to reconcile it. As a man, you learn to just roll with the punches, but sometimes, after travelling the same road of maybe defending yourself a bit before, out of necessity, just accepting the role of the flawed one, you realize enough is enough and make the person abandon their post.

Every Time I Die – The New Black Lyrics 9 years ago
This song is about a transition in somebody's life, evidenced by the contrast between the opening and closing of the song. At first the person is arrogant, but its noted that they must make time to "sturggle." They're an arrogant rockstar in their mind, what would they struggle with? Drugs, I think.

Then the song talks about having class and being low-key and having no fun, which could be growing or sobering up, i think. The person sees the materialism and status it brings as he adopts the more conservative lifestyle.

I think it is a song about someone reflecting, longing, and perhaps having an identity crisis about their past or present predicament transitioning from a more carefree lifestyle to one which is prettier from the outside, but not something the writer totally identifies with.

This song is about burritos. Should be obvious.

Rodriguez – Hate Street Dialogue Lyrics 10 years ago
I'm pretty sure this is about living in a poor area of the city with a lot of minorities. There are some drug and prostitution references in here to paint the situation, and he mentions the police brutality.

"Pig and hose" is probably the cops spraying minorities with fire hoses, and once he kisses the floor, which I'm guessing is accepting the bottom rung of society, the police let them be. I think the hanging tree is just emphasizing the racism.

Shpongle – No Turn - Unstoned Lyrics 13 years ago
First off, I love this song. I love Shpongle! haha

I think this is about drugs. Smokers often have to look for their lighters, which they use to BURN away the gloom. They close their eyes to wake up, but reality is tearing at the seems. This song might also be about WHERE you go when you start tripping, maybe even naming it Shpongleland.

P.O.D. – Youth Of The Nation Lyrics 13 years ago
I love this song! AS for the meaning, you could replace "We are the Youth of the Nation" as "We are the Product of our Environment."

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Concrete Jungle Lyrics 13 years ago
Yeah, now that you say it was a ghetto I could totally see that fitting the song better. A city is sometimes called a concrete jungle, plus the city lights drown out the starlight resulting in purely black skies. People are often stuck living in the ghetto without a way back.

I always used to think it was just about living in the city.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the song is about society.

The Prince actually translates pretty clearly to Upper class/government. They are in the watch tower, being served. The people society works for.

Comedians (aka the joker) are often skeptics of society. The thief obviously steals, perhaps a reference to the poor, who can't pay for everything.

The joker brings up how confusing society is. How the plowmen do labor while businessmen drink, unaware of the actual worth of their work. "Nobody will level on the line" = nobody is equal

The thief is aware of this and says that there are people who don't take life seriously, but now they(the joker and the thief) do. So they shouldn't idly talk about it, but take action(let us not talk falsely now, the hours getting late)

Outside in the cold distance(out of sight)
A wildcat did growl
two riders are approaching(the joker and thief are coming after the princes)
the wind began to howl("a storm is coming")
