Bayside – On Love, On Life Lyrics 14 years ago
"And I contemplate mistakes that we all made
The start and the ending of errors"

should be

"And I contemplate mistakes that we all made
The start and the ending of eras"

he's referring to relationships as eras or chapters in our lives.

excellent lyrics - perfect for any recent breakup/happily single mood

Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics 14 years ago
perfectly explained.

while this song might have christian references, to me it seems like he's talking about what was a perfect match being thrown away.

after all, TDAG was all about his relationship falling apart after his engagement.

its definitely respawn the students.

that whole first is referencing to technology taking students away from school..he's asking how to respawn the students - to get them back in school VS playing video games - to refresh the page (textbooks VS websites) - to restart the memory (mental VS computer).

as a teacher and someone who enjoys a good ol game of CoD or halo, i immediately said "genius" out loud when i heard these lyrics

Kanye West – Hell of a Life Lyrics 15 years ago
honestly, whats impressed me most with this album is how catchy every song is. the lyrics are a bonus..and so far without actually checking them, i've heard a step brothers reference and a tiger woods knock. so good.

but, this is by far my favorite. its proof that being a good hip hop artist is more than just having the ability to autotune your way through a chorus. textbook.

@jonatron, going hard is an understatement. so good.

Man Overboard – Fantasy Girl Lyrics 15 years ago
i have to disagree.

"And just like I planned,
she fell into my arms again,
and I could pretend that I would lie with her forever
and wait for the end.

You're right, you're right, we should be together.
Tonight, tonight, I could make it better
if I just gave up on my stupid little fantasy world."

these two verses, to me, are a dead give away that this song is about a guy who hasnt given up on a girl yet..she comes back and they're doing everything he imagined they would..except he doesnt really want it anymore. he's living in the fantasy world he made for the two of them but its not whats best or what should be.

"You're right, you're right, that was a fake smile
and you're right, you're right,
I am in denial.
I should just go home to my perfect little fantasy girl.
You're my fantasy girl."

again, its just saying that this girl isn't really what he thought it would be. he wants to go home to the fantasy world he made as opposed to living in the real world with her because his fantasy world had things worked out much more perfect.

Eminem – 25 To Life Lyrics 15 years ago
"im divoricing you
go marry someone else and make em famous"

this song is not about his relationship with Kim. i doubt her marrying someone else would make that person famous.

this song also isn't about his drug addiction. see:

"but in my sickness an addiction, you're addictive as they get,"

he's saying that even in his drug addiction (my sickness an addiction), hip hop is addictive as they get. or is he? go back to that first lyric i pasted.

"go marry someone else and make em famous
and take away their freedom like you did to me
treat em like you dont need them and they aint worthy of you"

and,

"command it, and imma be the boss of you now goddamnit
and what i mean is that i will no longer let you control me"

last i checked, hip hop artists make their own name. at least thats what they say when they talk about "the rap game." in fact, i dont think the rap game really treated him horribly..minus the angry mom's whose children got their hands on his music, i'm pretty sure everyone touts him as one of the best rappers alive/ever. however, control is the game the illuminati supposedly plays.

also, consider this lyric from cinderella man:

"Who forms pyramids and raps circles around square lyricists,"

the pyramid and eye in a circle is often associated with the illuminati as their "logo" of sorts.

i'm by no means a conspiracy theorist, but after reading about lady gaga's telephone song/music video and its clear allusions to the illuminati's mind control tactics parallelling the mass media of America despite its shallow appearance (omg leave me alone im dancing at the club, stupid boiii!), it has me wondering if em's trying to get at something similar by comparing the control his addictions have over him to the control the illuminati. or the "controller" could just be the music industry, his label, etc...but that is namely what gaga compares to the illuminati..not just the mass media.

i'm not suggesting that either of these musicians believe the illuminati exist..just that gaga for sure alluded to them, and that em could possibly be expressing the theme of this album being controlled by his addictions: rap, drugs, love) as being similar to the control the illuminati supposedly has over the world. you don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to think of alternate meanings or interpretations of something..just someone who thinks outside of the box every now and then ^^
