There's a line missing in the second verse. Should be this: So when she steps out into the night and finds the light that makes her prettiest, she'll be facing me every time she shines. Such a gorgeous song. |

I think the lyric goes: Won't you read my mind Don't you make me lie here And die here |

| I absolutely love this song. Especially the religious/blasphemous contrast in the imagery. | |

I would have to say that this is it exactly. It would certainly be a shame if they never meet. |

I think "long sleeps" should be changed to "long sleeves" I'm feeling like your chalkboard wrists but I don't tally the meaning You keep forgetting the plot, let alone long sleeves I think this part of the verse is alluding to the fact that she has maybe attempted suicide. "chalkboard wrists" with tally marks indicates cutting wounds. and "keep forgetting the plot, let alone the long sleeves" means she hasn't been really keen on hiding her attempts. And he keeps saying "Please?" because he doesn't want the world to know she's doing this to herself. And anyway, the "p" sounds a hell of a lot like a "v". And yeah yeah yeah those were straight from the book, I get that, but sleeves still makes more sense to me. |
