To me, this song is just generally about growing up, going through everything a teen does (heartbreak, pressure in education etc) and realizing that life isn't an easy thing, but it's also showing determination to rise above it all, and still live a life. The second verse i think is saying nothing you can throw at me is gonna stop me ("A scar is just a mark, Not a burden but a start of something new"). "My broken hearts the only thing of any value I have left" and "I hold my head up high cos I'm still here" are in my opinion are both fantastic lines, both say a lot to me. Good song, from a band with a lot of potential. |

Only 2 comments on this??? Come on people!! This song is incredible, I'd imagine its about Simon losing his mother, but the whole song, particularly the chorus, can apply to anyone who's loved and lost. Amazing song from, truly, one of the most talented bands of our generation. |

Awesome song, just fantastic The line "Talk about skeletons in your closet, well there's a fucking cemetery in mine" is honestly one of the best lyrics ive heard in years Meaning of the song is pretty simple imo, its just about being stuck in a dead-end town ("I'm sick of being stuck inside these four walls"), and feeling as though theres nothing more you can do in this place, and how desperate you are to get out ("I'm so useless in here, and i want out") i think alot of us, including me, can relate to this. But yeah, amazing band, if they continue they way they are they'll be huge. |
